The alliance aims to align requirements, deliver reference implementations, offer certification programs, and foster a vibrant open-source IVI community.
Our work will result in shortened development cycles, faster time-to market, and reduced costs for companies developing IVI equipment and software.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Communication Systems ESK undertakes applied research geared toward new information and communication technology (ICT) processes and methods. The engineering expertise of six core areas of competence is bundled across the Automotive, Industrial Communication and Telecommunication business units: Wired Transmission Technologies, Local Wireless Networks, Reliable Ethernet/IP Communication, Adaptive Systems, Model-based Software Development and Validation, Multicore Software.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, based in Erlangen, Germany, is home of the organization’s Audio and Multimedia division that has been dedicated to audio coding technology innovation for more than 20 years. Fraunhofer IIS is the main inventor of mp3 and universally credited with the co-development of AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) as well as technologies for the media world of tomorrow, including MPEG Surround and the Fraunhofer Audio Communication Engine.
